Our Hero, Mr. Bright

From our cross country coaches and the entire Peddie cross country team:

Head Coach Chris Bright emerged from his phone booth today at practice. He was only a cape short of being Superman when he ditched his alter ego to reveal his uni for the ITU World Championships!! (Hoots and hollers ensued).

Chris leaves TOMORROW for Auckland, New Zealand to represent Team USA in his race this upcoming weekend. We Falcons could NOT be more proud of him. We are so lucky to have him as our coach and this year, in particular, has been an absolute inspiration to have him around. Chris unfortunately will not be here for MAPLs this Saturday at home (as he clearly has a HUGE fish of his own to fry!) but he has been the keystone of our journey toward championship season and the glue of our team throughout the season. It won't be the same without him, but we feel WELL-prepared for Saturday BECAUSE OF HIM.

We promised to keep each others' races (OUR races!) in mind, regardless of distance, and to think of this upcoming weekend as the mother of all race weekends: Falcons at home, papa Falcon away on the hunt, all racing TOGETHER. Please send all positive good luck vibes in the direction of New Zealand for Chris on his own journey!!!! GO BRIGHT, YOU ARE OUR HERO!!!!!!!! We'll be cheering from Peddie!!!!!! Yip yip!!!!!!
