A First

Zui Dighe '15 ran her first triathlon this summer - right in her own backyard!

Every year my family, neighbors, and I cheer on the New Jersey State triathletes who bike on the street parallel to my neighborhood. While watching the triathletes, I always tell myself that I should go for a triathlon sometime soon; triathlons seem like a good combination of running (which I did in middle school), swimming (which I do at Peddie), and biking (which I did in the Sophomore Bike Trip).

This year, when the time came, I decided to go out of my comfort zone and sign up for the NJ State Triathlon without any experience and much training. Although tiring, the race was a rewarding experience and definitely worth the push; it felt amazing to cross the finish line and be congratulated and high-fived by my family, friends, and other spectators around me. With a little more training, I may even do the Irongirl triathlon on September 8!
