A Spring Break Break in Sanya, by Alex '14

Today was our first and last day of spending time in the tropical paradise of Sanya. In the morning we experienced different activities, such as massages, a walk on the beach, or a swim in the pool. You could even just stay in your room and relax, if you wanted to. We also ate breakfast, only this time there was much more variety of food and for the first time this week we had the option of getting food that was not a dumpling or Chinese food of some sort.

After spending our morning having time to ourselves we ate lunch; it was a tropical version of the Chinese food we had been eating in Shanghai. After lunch our tour guide, Xiao Ming aka Willa or Coconut, took us to the top of one of the mountains. On this journey, we crossed a rope bridge that to some of us seemed very frightening. Once we reached the top of the mountain we could almost see all of Sanya; it was a very beautiful site.

Later we attended a live performance that showed the history of Sanya. It was hard for me to be impressed  with the stunts demonstrated they were doing after the acrobatic show that we went to on Wednesday. In the end it was a great performance with difficult stunts that I will never be able to do.

After the performance we went to dinner in an area the locals call Russia town because of all the Russians who decided to buy a house there or work on business. In the end, this was a great break in the trip where we could have a lot of time to ourselves to just relax. After all, this is our spring break.
