Ready to face the Fringe in Edinburgh

Josie '15 sends this message from Scotland:

Today we met outside of our hotel in London at 5:30am. At 7 we headed for Kings Cross train station and there began our seven hour train ride to Edinburgh, Scotland.

When we arrived in Scotland we were greeted by a bagpiper, and then we hopped on a tour bus that took us to the Royal Mile where we spent a little time looking around at the shops and street performers. There was lots going on all over the Mile because today was the first day of the Fringe Festival!

We then headed to our dorms at the University of Edinburgh and received a folder that included our keys, bus passes, meal passes, as well the 400-page program listing all the performances throughout the Fringe Festival.

After we settled into our rooms, we met for dinner in the dining hall by the dorms.

Following dinner, Emma, Kelsie, and I headed out for a run through a park right down the street from where we're staying. The views on our run were amazing-- we were up in the mountains overlooking a lake with the beautiful architecture of Edinburgh all around us.

At night we had free time to either stay in the dorms and catch up on sleep or go out and explore the city. There is so much to do here and I can't wait to take it all in over the next nine days!
